Evolution Aqua K+ Advanced Filter

How they workHow to install Installing on a skimmer line

The 2024 Evolution Aqua K+ Advanced Pressure Filter

• Advanced pressure filters for ponds using K+Media.

Introducing Evolution Aqua's latest innovation in pond filtration technology, the K+ Advanced Filters. Manufactured by Evolution Aqua in the UK, this new range of pressure filters have been specifically designed to use Evolution Aqua’s own filtration media, K+ Media, to deliver exceptional water clarity and to be economical to run

{Description}
Description:

• Manufactured to Last. Manufactured in the UK by Evolution Aqua, the K+ Advanced Filter is produced using rotational moulding process; the body is made of a single homogenous material meaning there is no joint line, the wall thickness is consistent throughout, there are no weak points, and the feet are built-in as part of the body. This means that the K+ Advanced Filter is extremely durable and has the same attractive Granite Grey colour finish as the other filters in the Evolution Aqua family

• Best-in-Class Filtration Media. The benefits of using K+Media have been well documented since its launch in 2019, including its ability to filter particles down to one micro. The design and profile of the media helps to improve flow, its vast protected surface area of 1,025m2 per m3, or the total area of 5 x tennis courts, maintains stable bio-films and its unique manufacturing process where minerals and enzymes are added during the extrusion process, ensure K+ Media matures faster than any other type of filtration media. Evolution Aqua's filter media has also been independently tested to verify its performance by IFTS and Cranfield University

• Peace of Mind. Because Evolution Aqua are in control of the manufacturing process they can put the filters through rigorous testing and quality control checks before leaving the factory. K+ Advanced Filters are rated to a maximum working pressure of 1.5 bar, however they have been factory tested up to 2.5 bar and have passed a 10,000 cycle pressure test

• Economical to Run. To optimise performance, there are unique double laterals inside the filter that help to improve flow through the bed of K+ Media, that is supplied with every filter. This laminar flow, coupled with the use of K+ Media reduces back pressure on the circulating pump, ultimately making K+Advanced Filters one of the most economical filters to run

• Easy as 1-2-3. They are simple to install and can be used as a standalone filter or as part of a larger filtration system with a Nexus+ or on a skimmer line. The K+ Advanced Filters are incredibly easy to clean and are supplied with K+ Media, pipework, air blower and multiport valve

Key Features:

• Manufactured to last using latest rotational moulding process for peace of mind
• Supplied with advanced K+ Media, delivering enhanced mechanical and biological filtration
• Economical to run. The filter has been engineered to maximise pump efficiency
• One piece filter body matches existing Evolution Aqua filters in Granite Grey
• Easy to operate and clean, with pipework, blower and multiport valve supplied
• Built in feet (no skirt) for additional durability
• Unique engineered lateral design to optimise filtration

{How they work}

How K+ Advanced Filters work?

• Water is pumped into the filter from the pond, through the multi-port valve where the internal pipework directs the water to the bottom laterals.

• As the water flows upwards inside the K+ Advanced Filter, dirt, debris and waste are trapped within the mass of K+ Media that floats at the top of the filter

• The vast protected surface area provided by K+ Media also provides a home for beneficial bacteria, delivering mechanical and biological filtration

• The filtered water flows back through the laterals and pipework at the top of the filter, through the multi-port valve and back down the return line into the pond

• The K+ Advanced Filter, is incredibly easy to clean by simply moving the handle on the multi-port valve into the corresponding positions to perform a backwash and rinse which flushes out the waste trapped inside

{How to install}

How to install K+ Advanced Filters?

• The K+ Advanced Filter can be installed as shown on the image above if you are planning to use a pre-filter such as the Evolution Aqua Cetus Sieve

• If you are not planning to use a pre-filter we highly recommend that you fit a strainer basket to the pump, his will prevent leaves, string algae etc. from entering the filter and pump

• It is recommended that all pipework on the pump side (from the pump to the filter and back to the pond) is installed on 2” pipe

• Please note on the K+ Advanced Filter 20 you will have to reduce your pipe down to 1½” to connect to the multiport valve. This will ensure that your pump is working at its maximum flow.

• Do not operate the multiport valve with the circulating pump switched on. The air blower ball valve must be closed when the circulating pump is running
